Website Review #01, Part 02: Presenting & Explaining the Moodboard

There are a lot of travel blogs out there but you will choose to subscribe to only a handful of them because they both strike a chord in you while at the same time providing real value. I think that Schadow1 Expeditions is one of those travel blogs. I know Ervin personally and I think it is his dedication and passion for travel and adventure that help him in coming up with blog posts that are of real value. Since the content is all curated and laid out really well (he has tons of information and he shares photos of the places he visits, even in the middle of a rainy early morning or afternoon), his blog is needing only a couple of tweaks to improve user experience. My previous post was the first installment of my review for Schadow1 Expeditions. I briefly talked about what could be done in terms of design and structure so his blog could be better. Today, I will delve deeper into those items so that you will have a clearer picture of what I am talking about.

Website Review #01: Schadow1 Expeditions

I know this blog has been silent for a while. Sorry about that. Life threw me in a whirlwind ride and I needed some time to catch my breath. The good news is that I’m back with something new. Since I am not currently taking any freelance projects, the website junkie in me experienced some withdrawal. I had to create something. This feeling was driving me crazy and restless. And so I pondered over what I could do… Ladies & gents, I am thrilled to dabble on a travel blog called Schadow1 Expeditions. It’s a travel and mapping blog and is really helpful when you plan on visiting places in the Philippines. Here is a snippet of what the blog is about:

Schadow1 Expeditions is a travel and mapping advocacy blog of the Philippines. We travel, climb and dive the whole country to enjoy it and map it. Bringing you experiences, memories, and photos of the places we have been to and then map it to ensure that a Filipino would not be a stranger to his own motherland.

Schadow1 Expeditions, or S1 Expeditions for short, is run by Ervin. His blog is a treasure trove of well-documented travels, be it trekking the mountains or enjoying a gorgeous beach. Since his blog has been around for a few years and his content is valuable, I decided to do a review. And so putting my website geek glasses on, here is what I came up with:

This is Where Andrew Garfield Plays the Guitar and Sings and You Girls Swoon

I have a confession to make: I still have not yet watched “The Amazing Spider-Man 2.” I tell my friends and my brothers that the reason I haven’t watched it yet is due to time constraints. Honestly, it’s because I’m afraid that my this small crush I have for Andrew Garfield might balloon into an epic proportion and could possibly result to a full-blown fixation. And I need not expound on how painful it is to crush on The Boy Who Will Never Be.

Of course I am exaggerating on that whole Andrew Garfield fixation bit. Except, of course, that he is a pretty damn fine male specimen. And when I saw a video of him playing the guitar and singing the Spidey song, I had two reactions:

  1. I nearly swooned.
  2. I had this fit of giggles and laughter that I absolutely could not control.

And for these reasons, I thought it would be fun to share the video with you. Thanks to The Mary Sue for bringing this to my attention.
