Geeking Out: Processes, Best Practices and the Work Space

One of the things that I honestly enjoy is knowing the process of a web designer or a web developer. I find interest in knowing how someone straightens out their day (or the whole night) and manage to get some codes pushed or a media kit wrapped up. I mean, what do they do to get there?

I like listening to their stories, their take on what to do to get from point A to point B, their quirky rituals, their best practices, etc. It’s a great way to pick up some pointers and get to know the person behind the work. I cannot count the number of times I have come across a website and thought to myself, “I wish I could get to know these people.” This is why when I came across Alexis Ohanian’s interview with the guys behind OKCupid, I was stoked. I have tried OKCupid and while I have never dated anyone I met there, it was fun getting to know other people there via personal messages.

It was a good experience watching the video, as it gave the viewers a chance to see what goes on behind the scenes. And the office space! I also love seeing the work place of those in the creative field, as they always manage to pull off awesome and efficient work space. (Google, please contact me in case you are sponsoring a free tour of your beautiful, beautiful work space for someone on the other side of the world. Thank you.) Here, take a look at the interview I am yapping about here:
